Evaluating of Tier 1 ERP: SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Infor
Traditionally, the Tier 1 enterprise resource planning (ERP) market has been a two-horse race—SAP versus Oracle. But in recent years, which has a strong mid-market focus, has added Microsoft and now Infor to its quantitative and qualitative analysis of the global Tier 1 players.
By “Tier 1,” the consulting firm is singling out ERP players it considers able to meet the needs of fast-growing multinational companies in search of ERP scalability, flexibility and breadth to support that expansion, according to market research, speaking during a recent webinar digging into the research.
Before diving into the findings of the research, it’s important to set the stage for which ERP products the survey respondents have implemented. For SAP, implementations are primarily Business All-in-One and some R/3 and Business One; while for Oracle, they are largely JD Edwards and some E-Business Suite,
For Microsoft, implementations are mostly Dynamics AX and, to a lesser degree, Dynamics NAV, with SyteLine and Visual ERP representing Infor products, he adds.
